LAFD Utilizes UAS/Drone Imagery to Help Battle Portola Wildfire

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Fire Department utilized real-time conventional and infrared aerial imagery obtained by LAFD operated Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS or ‘drones’) in both daylight and darkness to support vital command decisions while battling the Portola wildfire incident in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles on June 12-13, 2018.
